Declan Levy is an audio engineer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist
with a degree in Classical Composition from the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music, where he studied under Laura Kaminsky and other internationally recognized composers. His work bridges the gap between the concert hall and the studio, bringing a deep understanding of musical craft to every recording.
Outside the studio, Declan Levy has spent over seven years teaching music theory. He has developed a particular focus on working with college students and adult musicians who are already in the middle of their musical journey. Whether you have another teacher, are enrolled in a music program, or simply have a background in music and want to go deeper, he offers personalized one-on-one sessions designed around the genres you love and the music you're creating. Rather than a generic curriculum, each student gets targeted insight into the theory behind their favorite artists and style, so the concepts actually connect to the music that matters to them. Lessons are available over Zoom or in person.
At Brawling Bears Studio, which he has helped build into a world-class recording facility, Declan integrates high-fidelity equipment including Lynx Auroras, Genelec 8300 series monitors, Kemper Profiler Amps, and Grace m108s into a seamless analog and digital infrastructure. The studio's networked systems allow artists to track through amplifiers hundreds of feet away, communicate across rooms via talkback, and draw from an expansive library of virtual instruments.
